The 5th   annual Ultra Trail Unseen Koh Chang 2020 (UTKC 2020) will be held on February 15th-16th, 2020. The last two years this worldwide event had successfully fielded approximately 1,600 participants from 32 countries. 

Ko Chang Tai Subdistrict Administration Organization, Ko Chang National Park and Teelakow Co., Ltd. jointly organize the Ultra Trail Unseen Koh Chang 2020.

The only Jungle Trail in Thailand with variety of funny challenges, excitement, and extreme challenges with tropical conditions, a route that is natural along with various routes among fishing villages, hiking trails, rocky waterfalls and sandy beaches. We are ready to welcome runners from countries around the world, we anticipate that this year there will be 2,000+ participants.

RACE CATEGORY AND ENTRY FEE 

 

BAG DROP SERVICE

70 km and 100 km runners can leave their luggage on the day of bib pickup and can take it back from 06:00 am to 07:00 pm on February 16, 2020.

  1. Participants need to ensure that each luggage is labelled on the outside with their name and bib number before dropping it at the luggage storage point.
  2. Participants need to ensure that each luggage is securely closed and waterproof.
  3. Valuables, such as cell phones and money, can not be left at the luggage storage point.
  4. Bike storage service is not provided.

 

5 km, 14 km, and 34 km can leave or pick up their luggage from 04:00 am to 05:00 pm on February 16, 2020. 

 

THE REGISTRATION FEE includes the following:

  • Bib number
  • Accident Insurance
  • Event t-shirt (to receive on the day of bib pickup; no delivery by mail)
  • Medal (exclusively for runners who complete the race in time and followed all the rules and regulations)
  • Finisher t-shirt for 34 km, 70 km and 100 km runners (exclusively for those who complete the race in time and followed all the rules and regulations)

 

REGSTRATION

  • Runners have to register online on the website www.teelakow.com
  • It is allowed to transfer an existing registration to someone else or change the name of the participant by November 30th,2019. After the maximum number of participants is reached, marking the end of the registration process, no more modifications cade be made. A fee of THB 100 will apply for a name change.
  • All fees are non-refundable under any circumstances.
  • Participants registering with a promotion code or at any special rates are not in any case allowed to change the name in the registration.
  • Every participant must check in by themselves.
  • 14 km and 34 km runners can have someone else pick up their bib by presenting a photo of their ID card.
  • Participants must compete with their own bib only. If not, event staff can forbid the participant to continue the race and disqualify him/her immediately.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR REGISTRATION

  • Participants must be at least 18 years old.
  • As this race, organized by Teelakow Co., Ltd., does not require a medical certificate, participants are asked to please understand and accept the risks of accidents that can be caused by the race. To be able to enjoy the race, it is also recommended for participants to practice regularly.

 

GENERAL RULES

  • Participants are encouraged to arrive at the starting point 2 hours prior to the start time of the race. 
  • Mandatory equipment will be checked upon registration and must be carried with each participant throughout the entire race.
  • The organizing team reserves the right to conduct an on-site checkof mandatoryequipment at any time during the race.
  • The race bib has to be placed on the chest and visible throughout the entire race.
  • Participants are responsible for bringing their own water bottle or hydration pack as no water cups will be provided at the reception area or on the race route.
  • Participants who cannot proceed to the finish line within the time limit will be considered as Did Not Finish (DNF).
  • Participants are required to check in with event staff at every checkpoint (time-recording point) throughout the race.
  • Littering is prohibited. Any participant caught littering on the trail is subject to immediate disqualification.
  • Participants are not allowed to use any types of vehicles. Any participant caught doing so is subject to immediate disqualification. Vehicles can only be used in case of injuries or in the case that the participants decide to quit the race.
  • Participants, support crews, and the organizing team must behave appropriately and respectfully towards others at all times. It is strictly prohibited for participants to race naked. 
  • It is not mandatory for participants to attend the briefing, but to read and accept the rules and conditions on www.teelakow.com .The organizing team will accept no complaints, assuming that participants understand acknowledge and accept all the rules and regulations of the event.

 

REGULATIONS

  • Participants must wear a safety vest at night. If not, event staff can forbid the participant to continue the race immediately. The participant can race again only when wearing one.
  • Participants must wear an operating headlamp. If not, event staff can forbid the participant to continue the race immediately. The participant can race again only when wearing one or at the return of daylight.
  • Participants must carry a hydration pack and all mandatory equipment with themselves. If not, event staff can forbid the participant to continue the race immediately. The participant can race again only when having a hydration pack.
  • Any form of cheating will result in immediate disqualification.
  • The event organizer reserves the right to implement additional rules during the competition in case of unexpected or disruptive events, in order to preserve the competition or to allow the competition to continue until the end with the least interruption possible. The event organizer reserves all rights regarding the rules and the interpretation, and to enforce the decision of the event organizer. 
  • The use of any types of performance-enhancing drugs is prohibited throughout the competition. Any participant caught using one is subject to immediate disqualification.
  • Theparticipation in the race impliesthe acceptance of these rules and regulations.
  • Participants are not in any case allowed to have a pacer.
  • Participants are allowed to be assisted by their support crew only at official aid stations.
  • Participants are not allowed to accept help on the race route.

 

COMPETTITION WITHDRAWAL

  • The participant wishing to withdraw from the competition or his/her support crew must communicate the withdrawal to the event organizer at the closest first aid station, and provide them with the name of the participant, reason, and time of withdrawal. 
  • No service will be provided in the event that participants are lost during the race, resulting in late arrival or wrong distance.

 

MANDATORY GEAR

Mandatory Gear Check 70K and 100K Runners

1. Water bottle or hydration pack with a minimum capacity of 1.5 liter

2. Water cup

4. Head lamp with extra batteries

5. Mobile phone with Thai SIM card, power cable and power bank.

6. Reflective vest or belt

7. Emergency blanket

 

All runners in 70K and 100K need to have their mandatory gear checked before they can collect their race pack. For your safety, ALL of the mandatory gear in the list must be carried by each runner at all times whist in the entire race. Random checks will be performed anywhere on course to ensure all athletes stay safe and if any runner is found without the full list of mandatory gear on person, they will not continue and will be disqualified.

AWARDS PRESENTATION

The winning runners can check the results from the timing system. The winners will receive an unofficial report on the results and have to present it to event staff. It is also required to present one of the following proofs of identity to the staff: 

  • National ID Card
  • Driving License 
  • Passport

 

- We reserve the right to give prizes to only runners who have the information matching with the details appeared on BIB number. 

- We reserve the right to not give prizes to proxy runners.

- We reserve the right to give prizes to runners who complete the whole running distance.

- Any disagreement towards the running result should be issued within 30 minutes after the official result is announced. In case doing after 30 minutes, it’s counted as invalid.

- Prizes will be presented once all the winning runners make a confirmation.

- We reserve the right not to deliver any prizes by mail.

- We reserve the right not to award prizes to the runners who do not play by the rules of the competition.

Protests concerning the results of the competition must be made with 30 minutes following the official announcement of the results. After this, the final results cannot be changed.
